The Bees traveled to division foe Pembroke in search of their first win of the season. The Dragons and the Bees battled it out, with Byron-Bergen coming away with a 45-43 victory. Pembroke jumped out to a 15-7 lead early, but the visitors did not back down. BB chipped away at the Dragon lead and went to the break with a 23-20 lead. Noah Clare and Cody Carlson led the comeback effort contributing 6 and 5 respectively in the frame. Byron-Bergen outscored Pembroke 15-14 in the 3rd quarter, including a HUGE 3 pointer from Adam Cardenas, with 2 seconds remaining in the quarter. Both teams struggled to find the mark in the fourth quarter, as they combined for 16 points. Cody Carlson led BB with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals, while Clare finished with 13, including 6-6 from the foul line. Cole DiQuattro chipped in with 8 points. "The beginning of our season has been challenging. We have stayed the course and are continuing to work on things that will bring us success. Today, we played solid defense and had just enough offense to pull out the victory

This game between the Bees and the Dragons was a good old fashioned slugfest, in every sense of the word. Both teams played aggressive, hard nosed defense and neither would give an inch. The two teams were tied after the first and second quarters. Pembroke took a three point advantage to the final frame, leading by a 42-39 margin. Byron-Bergen answered the call in the fourth behind a three pointer from Noah Clare and two threes from Cole DiQuattro, including the game winner with 6.3 seconds to play. DiQuattro and Clare finished with 21 and 13 respectively, while Cody Carlson added 11 points. "Really proud of our effort tonight. We have had a bunch of close games lately and that can wear on kids. Tonight we showed a lot of resiliency and the ability to execute down the stretch in a close game."
